Well JW invited me to this thread, but I am a little confused as to the is going on. The original question on Fixya stated water was dispensing and the ice maker was working, but the ice was not dispensing. This would indicate a problem with the auger motor or the wiring leading to it. I also read a reply about replacing the module which has nothing to do with the dispenser so I hope that information has been dismissed. There is no board associated with the dispenser on that model as it is simply a set of buttons that change the routing of the power to the motor. So as was mentioned, if the freezer door switch is closed, then 120vac should be read between the blue and white wires at the motor when the ice dispenser lever is pressed. If there is no voltage, then it would be time to remove the dispenser cover and check the voltage at the dispenser lever switch. If there is voltage, then the DC outputs from the motor would need to be verified to determine if the motor was the issue or dispenser selector buttons. Playing the odds, I would suspect the inverter board on the motor as failed due to water leaking down the auger coupler shaft, but that would need to be verified with a multimeter. If the customer has access to a multimeter, they will need to run the circuit and verify voltages, or they can just start replacing the associated parts. Hope this helps.

Here are their last remarks from them to me, J. Webster>>> John, I have attached the photos. I verified that it is a Whirlpool model GS6SHAXLS03.The fork object is not turning. The closing of the ice dispenser flap is the noise heard after releasing the ice dispenser button(s). The two screws which hold the object which turns the fork, seen in last pictures with ice container removed, are not loose. I can press the object down - it is inside a small metal ring - and it returns to its normal position. Thx againJW go to my site evey so often because the site refreshes after new post, Hey Thanks, For the information JW, Asiianjade/Sea Breeze

I have customer on Fixya that has A Whirlpool Side by side model # GS6SHAXLS03 We have been going in circles on resolving this problem and I need all the expert's and Pro's to be in involved to relsolve this. Here are some of the notes from that post that began with an incorrect model number. Photos will come later. Please note I am sponsor friendly and support most including appliancepartspros.com As I will post them on my bog http://appliancepartsandtechnicalservices.blogspot.com/

My first solution was OK, I show parts that are available for that model, sounds like the control board is defective for your dispenser, or possibly the Ice maker control board. It also could be a break in the wiring or the control itself. Below is a break down for those parts, wiring and the control behind the push to dispense ice or water. Hope it is not that control because some places don't provide that part. Now if it's a connection problem that we can find, I will do my best to help you solve this. Could you insure the model number is correct as this is very important? appliancepartsse@yahoo.com I will need to make the photos smaller to post them here, but will be updating my site later through the day. Thanks to Everyone, Asianjade

Wow we need technician Brian for this one.

Yes, I have been scrambling my brains on this one. The customer is really interested in getting it fixed. I did a lot of research and about the only thing I can come to is either the controls on front of dispenser and behind the buttons has short or the auger motor is defective. Hey, JW go to my site I have posted in the first post and look at the photos. Let me know when Brian will be back. I have noticed that all our sponsors have limited info because of copyright issues. Promised the wife and daughter I will take them to Beach to night, so I too may be late getting the info. Later and thanks JW, Asianjade/Sea Breeze
